A Lunar Alignment

Inspired by Celtic and Greek goddesses, in celebration of the moon cycles and the changing of seasons, this collaboration is an ode to nature’s ephemeral beauty. Playing with light and shadow, the aim was to create something contemporary but timeless, staying sensitive to the wild and ancient landscape of Castlefreke, West Cork...

Captured by photographer Simon Curran, these stunning images feature couture pieces made and styled by Alice Halliday, in elegant flowing silhouettes. Layers of fabric flutter and dance in the breeze, and embellishments twinkle in the light. Whimsical dried flower arrangements by Juna Bloom become the most delightful accessories, and the mystical metalwork of Aluna Jewellery adds an extra touch of magic. Each look is gracefully modelled by the divine Eileen Cardona.

About the creative team

IAMACOSMONAUT is the alter ego of photographer & visual artist Simon Curran.

Based in Cork City, Ireland. His body of work is a juxtaposition of beauty & fragility. Aesthetic compositions documenting imaginary worlds and the march of time, where fantasy is key and the monsters under the bed are of your own devising.

Eileen Cardona is a young freelance model, originally from Venezuela, currently based in Cork city. She grew up in a hostile environment where hardworking creative people always served as an inspiration. She has worked with numerous Irish brands, fine artists and local businesses.

Most of her ideas and influences come from being raised across a continuous mix of cultures. Mesmerized and inspired by her Black/Latino roots, she embraces the unity and strength this community gives her. She is grateful to work artistically with different people, and hopes to get involved in many more projects within the creative world.

JUNA BLOOM is a design duo by James & Una, based in East Cork. They are happy to travel wherever the fun creative colloborations take them. They feel most inspired working with seasonal produce, and the vision for their business is to buy locally when ever possible. This summer they are embarking on a small cutting garden for use on summer weddings and events.

“We are in constant awe of nature and her beauty and resilience, every dander down a country lane is full of wonder and inspiration, with many windfall branches and arms full of seasonal grasses and vines being brought back to the studio to have creative fun with.”

Their work ranges from weddings, to fun parties, floral installations, flower crown workshops and fresh and dried flower wreath workshops.

Stella Temiraeva of Aluna Jewellery lives with her son between Skibbereen and Ballydehob, West Cork. Her two loves in life are playing with her boy and working in her seaside studio. She is inspired by all things magical & mystical;

“Éiru, the goddess of Ireland is my perfect muse. I love the natural world, the night skies and the spiritual realm.”

Her jewellery pieces are a collection of lunar and sacred symbology. She predominantly works with bronze and silver. Her Bronze Collection is an ode to the Irish Bronze Age, a prehistoric period characterised by the wealth of innovative creations such as the exquisitely decorated hammered sun discs, and crescent shaped lunulae.

The outfits featured in these images are a combination of new and older couture creations by Alice Halliday. Like all her work, they are unique, one-of-a-kind pieces. You can find them in the new Archive Sale shop section, along with other special designs and samples, some with generous discounts.
