Grace’s Dream Dress
Grace brought some family heirlooms to her consultation with Alice, to incorporate into her design; lace doilies and tablecloths that had belonged to her granny. The crochet edge from one of the tablecloths became the hem of the dress. The initial inspiration was to include ‘Stevie Knicks’ flowing sleeves, and to create the most flattering silhouette with ‘corset style’ bodice. The embroidered lace used for the bodice was once a napkin. The chiffon sleeves, were unpicked and reused, from a vintage scarf. The velvet straps were hand torn and botanically dyed locally by textile artist Ashleigh Ellis. The silky satin skirt was from a remnant of fabric, found in Alice’s stash. Each element was carefully considered, delicately draped and meticulously hand-stitched together, to create a unique tapestry, of many different textures, married together in harmony.

Phoebe’s Reworked Bridal Gown
Phoebe was given a pre-loved fish-tail wedding dress, but it wasn’t quite right for what she envisioned wearing for her special day. She had a design in mind, and a specific vision. Her requests were "witchy, sexy, Stevie Nicks inspired"… Alice transformed the dress for her, bringing her dream dress to reality. She took off the bottom section of the dress, replacing it with long fringing, which she hand-dyed with coffee. Underneath, a tulle layer was added, which created a floor sweeping train behind her. The "pièce de résistance" being the long flowing tulle cape sleeves, these are a contemporary alternative to a cape or veil.

Rosa’s Whimsical Wedding Skirt
Rosa came to Alice with a vintage skirt that she loved the style and fit of, the perfect accompaniment for the bespoke made top that she had custom ordered from Carolyn O’Sullivan, Not Another White Dress. But the skirt needed something extra special… in-line with Rosa’s dream vision of an ‘apron’ style skirt, Alice created her a gathered tulle over-skirt, flowing from a gold silk sash, with a big beautiful bow at the back.
